useful contacts
Here is an unashamedly personal and eclectic selection of organisations, websites and gardens that I think are worth a mention as of possible interest to our customers and fellow gardeners.
Thinkin gardens
An organisation set up with the help of the RHS to “encourage and develop a broader, more enquiring attitude to gardens”
Royal Horticultral Society
The Society of Garden Designers
If you have a big project and would like to employ one of these , why not check out those accredited by the industry’s professional body?
The National Trust
Keepers of some of the county’s most fabulous historic gardens. Visit their site to find one near you.
The National Garden Scheme
If you haven’t discovered who is in the “Yellow Book” in your area find out before the season starts again then visit to steal their ideas, give yourself a treat and make a contribution to charity at the same time.
The Chelsea Physic Garden
Founded in 1673 on the north bank of the Thames, the Chelsea Physic Garden is still a centre for research into the medicinal properties of plants and is now open to the public at selected times during the summer. An intriguing place, well worth a visit but take your walking shows. It is rather awkward for out-of-towners to get to.
The Henry Doubleday Research Association
dedicated to the research and development of organic methods in gardening and farming.
